1-Week Advanced Laser, Hydrafacial & Microneedling Course

Course Length: 1 Week (40 Hours)
Prerequisites: Licensed Master Esthetician, RN, NP
Location: Southwest Washington Esthetics Institute

Course Overview

This comprehensive, hands-on training program is designed to advance licensed professionals in the safe and effective use of medical laser and microneedling technologies. Students will gain in-depth theoretical knowledge and perform clinical applications with IPL, Laser Hair Removal, LP YAG, Erbium:YAG, Laser Tattoo Removal, Hydrafacial, RF Microneedling, Hydrafacial and SkinPen® Microneedling.

Participants will graduate confident in client assessment, treatment protocols, and post-care recommendations for a range of skin concerns and conditions.

Course Breakdown

Day 1 – Laser Science, Hydrafacial, Microneedling and RF Microneedling Didactic

Focus: Foundational Laser Physics, Hydrafacial, Microneedling + RF Microneedling

Topics Covered:

  • Laser and light physics fundamentals (wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, chromophores)
  • Fitzpatrick Skin Typing and laser safety protocols
  • Indications and contraindications for laser and RF treatments
  • Pre- and post-treatment care
  • Understanding RF energy and microneedling synergy
  • Comparison of RF Microneedling vs. Traditional Microneedling
  • Understanding Hydrafacial modalities
  • Device settings, depth selection, and treatment protocols
  • Managing client expectations and complications
  • Live Demonstration: RF Microneedling

Day 2 – SkinPen® Microneedling, Hydrafacial Didactic + Demonstration

Morning (3 hours – Didactic):

  • Introduction to SkinPen® technology and FDA clearance
  • Introduction to Hydrafacial technology
  • Indications, contraindications, and treatment protocols
  • Depth and technique for various skin concerns (acne scars, texture, fine lines)
  • Combination therapies: SkinPen with chemical peels and LED
  • Sanitation, infection control, and record keeping

Afternoon (Hands-On):

  • Live demonstration on SkinPen Microneedling and Hydrafacial
  • Student practice sessions on models under instructor supervision

Day 3 – IPL & Laser Hair Removal Hands-On

Focus: Light-Based Therapies for Pigment and Hair Reduction

Morning:

  • IPL theory review (selective photothermolysis, target chromophores)
  • Safety, eye protection, skin cooling, and pre-treatment protocols
  • Hands-on: IPL for pigmentation and photorejuvenation

Afternoon:

  • Laser Hair Removal theory (YAG and Diode systems)
  • Device calibration, fluence, and pulse parameters
  • Hands-on: Laser Hair Removal treatments on multiple skin types

Day 4 – LP YAG, Erbium:YAG & Laser Tattoo Removal Hands-On

Focus: Advanced Laser Applications

Morning:

  • Erbium:YAG laser theory and fractional resurfacing overview
  • Indications: fine lines, wrinkles, texture, and scars
  • Hands-on: Erbium:YAG fractional and full-field treatments

Afternoon:

  • LP YAG for vascular and deep dermal applications
  • Laser Tattoo Removal theory: wavelengths, pigment colors, and protocols
  • Hands-on: YAG tattoo removal demonstrations and supervised practice

Day 5 – Integration, Combination Protocols & Case Studies

Morning:

  • Review of treatment protocols, client selection, and documentation
  • Managing complications and post-care
  • Combining modalities: Laser + RF Microneedling + SkinPen
  • Pricing, marketing, and integrating laser services into a med spa or clinical setting

Afternoon:

  • Final student hands-on practical evaluations
  • Instructor feedback and discussion
  • Certificate ceremony and graduation photos

Course Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will:

  • Understand laser and RF microneedling physics, parameters, and skin interactions
  • Safely perform treatments using IPL, Laser Hair Removal, LP YAG, Erbium:YAG, and Laser Tattoo Removal devices
  • Confidently deliver RF Microneedling and SkinPen Microneedling treatments
  • Demonstrate professional competence in consultation, contraindications, and post-treatment care
  • Receive a Certificate of Completion in Advanced Laser & Microneedling Technologies

  • $4,500 (Non-refundable deposit of $2,500 due upon registration with $2,000 due 1 week prior to course)
